Hyperliquid started as a high-performance exchange running on its own blockchain, and HYPE is that chain's native token. Its user base is made up largely of active traders. If those people are your customers, letting them pay in HYPE saves them a swap and a withdrawal fee.
HyperCore vs HyperEVM: the one thing to understand
The Hyperliquid blockchain has two parts that share the same underlying chain but keep separate balances:
| HyperCore | HyperEVM | |
|---|---|---|
| What it is | The exchange engine: order books, perps, spot trading | An Ethereum-compatible smart-contract environment |
| Where users see HYPE | Balances inside the Hyperliquid trading app | Ordinary EVM wallets on chain ID 999 |
| Checked by Payfim? | No | Yes |
Hyperliquid's documentation is explicit that HyperCore balances are not visible on HyperEVM. A HyperCore transfer to your address does not create a HyperEVM transaction, so Payfim never sees it and the invoice stays open. The customer has to move HYPE to HyperEVM first. In the Hyperliquid app that is the "Transfer to/from EVM" or "EVM <-> Core Transfer" option; after that they can pay from a normal EVM wallet.
Hyperliquid routes transfers between HyperCore and HyperEVM through the system address 0x2222222222222222222222222222222222222222. It is plumbing, not a wallet. Never enter it as your receiving address.
Why accept HYPE at all?
For most shops it is a niche option. It makes sense when you sell to traders and crypto-native users: trading tools, data services, education, communities, or infrastructure. For those buyers, HYPE may be the coin they hold most of. It is a volatile asset, so price your products in fiat and rely on Payfim's live rate and 30-minute quote lock.
Speed and fees on HyperEVM
HyperEVM uses a dual-block design, according to Hyperliquid's documentation: fast blocks about every second with a small gas limit, and larger blocks about every minute for heavy transactions. A simple HYPE transfer fits in the fast blocks. Gas is paid in HYPE, and HyperEVM burns both the base fee and the priority fee rather than paying them to validators.
Payfim waits for 3 confirmations by default, which normally takes seconds. The order then updates on the gateway's next check, typically within a minute with the recommended every-minute cron.
The exact fee for a transfer depends on the gas price at the moment of sending. A HyperEVM block explorer shows current values if a customer asks.
Receiving wallet for HYPE
Use an EVM wallet you control, hardware or reputable non-custodial software, with HyperEVM added as a network (chain ID 999; Hyperliquid publishes the RPC URL). The receiving address is a standard 0x address and can be the same one you use on Ethereum, because the same private key controls it on every EVM chain.
Use a normal wallet account. A smart-contract wallet deployed on Ethereum does not automatically exist at the same address on HyperEVM.
Setting up HYPE in Payfim
- Create a free key at etherscan.io if you do not have one. Etherscan's API V2 includes HyperEVM mainnet on its free tier as of September 2026.
- Save it under Wallets & coins → Blockchain APIs → Etherscan API V2 key. The same key covers ETH, USDT ERC20, USDC and LINK.
- Paste your 0x address into the Hyperliquid – HyperEVM row.
- Keep confirmations empty for 3, switch it on, click Save wallets, and press Test.
Payfim detects direct HYPE transfers and, with the smart-contract detection option left on, HYPE sent through contracts. Transactions can be looked up on hyperevmscan.io.
Suggested checkout wording
Because the HyperCore trap is easy to fall into, a short instruction near the payment button saves support tickets. For example:
Paying with HYPE? Send native HYPE on HyperEVM (chain ID 999) from a wallet such as your EVM browser wallet. HYPE in your Hyperliquid trading account must be transferred to HyperEVM first.
The Payfim checkout already names the network next to the coin. The QR code for HYPE contains your address only, so the customer copies the exact amount with the copy button.
HYPE pitfalls
- Paying from HyperCore. The most likely problem. The HYPE leaves the customer's trading balance but never appears on HyperEVM at your address. Put a line on your checkout: "Send HYPE on HyperEVM (chain 999), not from your Hyperliquid trading account."
- Other assets through the bridge address. Hyperliquid warns that its HYPE transfer address works for HYPE only and that sending other assets there loses them. That is a customer-side risk, but a reason to keep instructions simple.
- Tokens instead of HYPE. Payfim's HYPE option counts native HYPE only. Other tokens on HyperEVM are not detected.
- Wrapped HYPE elsewhere. A HYPE-branded token on Ethereum or another chain is not native HYPE on HyperEVM.
- Short payments beyond the 0.5% tolerance mark the invoice underpaid.
